Superman: World of New Krypton #12
In "World of New Krypton, Part Twelve," Kal-El, Tyr-Van, and Tam-Or are whisked to safety by Adam Strange just before execution, only to face new threats on New Krypton. With Zod and Ursa standing guard, Kal-El and Zod confront Councilor Wri-Qin, who confesses to a conspiracy aimed at weakening New Krypton so Earth could seize control—his own ruthless power grab behind the scheme. The revelation shakes Kal-El to his core, until the shocking arrival of Brainiac upends everything. Written by Greg Rucka and James Robinson, with dynamic art by Pete Woods and Ron Randall and colors by Nei Ruffino, this issue’s cover by Gary Frank captures the moment with chilling precision.

Adam Strange teleports Kal-El, Tyr-Van, and Tam-Or away and back to avoid execution. Commander Gor finds them, but Zod and Ursa prevent a second attempt. After Adam leaves, Zod and Kal-El work to figure out the conspiracy. They confront Councilor Wri-Qin, who admits the conspirators were undermining New Krypton's development so that Earth could more easily conquer it and install the conspirators as Earth's puppet rulers. Wri-Qin was eliminating his fellow conspirators in order to get a larger share of power. As he despairs for New Krypton, Kal-El is shocked by the dramatic arrival of Brainiac.
