DC's beloved DragonLance series reaches its 34th issue with "On Death of Pain — The Legend of the Blackgem: II," the second chapter of a compelling multi-part arc by Paul Kupperberg and artist Grant Miehm. The cover by Ron Randall and Randy Elliott draws the eye with a richly layered composition: a menacing red-skinned figure looms above a dark-haired man and a red-scarved woman at center, while the weathered face of an elder dominates the left and a wide-eyed blond youth peers in from the right — all framed by small winged angel figures clutching staves, with an ominous skull-helmeted artifact front and center.
