Thunderbolts #100
Thunderbolts reaches its milestone 100th issue in 2006 with a cover by penciler Tom Grummett and inker Gary Erskine that pulls no punches — a colossal, cosmos-filled figure dominates the scene, fist raised, while a full roster of Thunderbolts members (including a silver-armored fighter, a winged female figure, and several others) scatter and battle amid a storm of shattered rock and debris. The sheer number of characters tumbling across the cover makes it a fitting visual celebration of everything the series has built over a hundred issues. "The War at Home" sounds like exactly the kind of high-stakes story this landmark deserves.
