Vertigo's supernatural series continues with this third issue, featuring a striking cover by Tara McPherson that sets a distinctly moody, nocturnal tone. A pale, gothic young woman in black — cradling a grinning black-and-white cat — stands beside a weathered column plastered with an eye-catching concert poster advertising "Osiris Rocks! at Grindfest 2004," with two faces depicted on the star-shaped design and the name "Kara Valentine" boldly scrawled across it. McPherson's stylized, almost painterly aesthetic gives the whole scene a dreamy edge that feels perfectly suited to a Vertigo title from 2004.
