The Dreaming #47

This Vertigo series always had a gift for imagery that lingers, and issue #47's Dave McKean cover is no exception — a pale, dreaming face reclines beneath an enormous skeletal creature, its bones spread wide against warm golden tones and faint Egyptian-style relief carvings, conjuring something ancient and unsettling all at once. The composition feels suspended between museum and myth, perfectly suited to a series that lives in the space where waking thought dissolves. Caitlín R.
