The penultimate chapter of Vertigo's six-part series arrives with one of the more memorable cover images of 2000: a dressed chimp in a baseball cap and yellow shirt, casually clutching a fanned hand of playing cards while lightning crackles in the stormy sky behind him — equal parts unsettling and oddly compelling. John Bolton's painted cover work gives the whole scene a moody, cinematic weight that suits a Mature Readers title built around deals, chance, and consequence. With Bill Willingham writing and Paul Guinan on art, "Full House or No Way to Treat a Lady" promises the series is heading toward its finale with plenty of wild cards still in play.
