Justice League Europe #41

The Justice League Europe faces an enormous threat in this 1992 issue subtitled "The Revenge of Chthon!" — and the cover by Ron Randall and Randy Elliott makes the danger unmistakably clear, with two massive fists bearing down on a scrambling team that includes Green Lantern, The Flash, Aquaman, Power Girl, and what appears to be Crimson Fox and Animal Man, all reeling before a looming rocky backdrop. Gerard Jones scripts the action while Randall and Elliott handle the interiors as well, giving the whole issue a consistent visual energy. It's a full-team-in-peril composition that captures the spirit of ensemble superhero adventure at its most kinetic.
