Matthew Sturges

Matthew Sturges was born in October 1970 in the United States and built a career as a writer of comics and fantasy novels, working primarily within the Vertigo and DC Comics lines. Breaking into the industry around 2006, Sturges quickly found a foothold collaborating with Bill Willingham on *Jack of Fables*, a spinoff of Willingham's celebrated *Fables* universe that earned an Eisner Award nomination and became one of Sturges's most recognized credits. Over a productive stretch running through 2020, Sturges accumulated writing credits on more than 200 issues across a notably varied range of titles.
