Jack of Fables #50

The banner says it all — "Buy seven copies, because it's the very last issue of…" Jack of Fables, and issue #50 sends the long-haired, mustachioed Jack out in fitting style with a Brian Bolland cover that's equal parts road-trip nostalgia and breezy confidence. Jack stands with his back to us on an open highway, suitcase in hand and thumb extended, grinning over his shoulder as mountains stretch out behind him — a picture of someone who's always moving on to the next adventure. With Bill Willingham, Matthew Sturges, Tony Akins, Russ Braun, and a full creative team delivering this 2011 finale, it's a genuinely satisfying send-off for Vertigo's most incorrigible Fable.
