Jack of Fables #4

From Vertigo's irreverent Fables spin-off comes this December 2006 issue of Jack of Fables, with a cover by James Jean that crackles with urgent energy — a young woman scrambles desperately through a chain-link fence while a storm of dark birds and shadowy figures swirls behind her in a striking red-and-white backdrop. The tagline "No one does more, knows more, or gets away with more than…" sets a perfectly mischievous tone for a series built around the most self-serving trickster in all of folklore. Written by Bill Willingham and Matthew Sturges, with interior art by Tony Akins and Andrew Pepoy, this "Jackrabbit" chapter promises the same sharp wit and mature storytelling that made this Vertigo title such a compelling companion to Fables.
