“Black & White, Part Three: Come Together”

This issue's tagline — "Sword Against Sorcery" — says it all, and the cover delivers on that promise in vivid style. A caped figure in a blue costume stands his ground atop what looks like a ruined landscape, sword raised high while a writhing mass of monstrous, ghoulish figures surges around him from every direction. Phil Winslade's cover art captures that precarious, outnumbered defiance beautifully, with the fiery orange sky adding real urgency to the scene. Matthew Sturges continues his run with part three of "Black & White," making this a fine chapter in Shadowpact's 2008 lineup.
