Final Crisis Aftermath: Run! #1

Spinning out of DC's Final Crisis event, this 2009 six-issue series kicks off with a cover by Kako that announces its tone immediately: a grinning, red-suited villain strides through a city backdrop, cigar in one hand and lighter in the other, goggles pushed up on his forehead and looking thoroughly delighted with himself. Writer Matthew Sturges and artist Freddie Williams II promise a story centered squarely on this gleefully unrepentant bad guy, and that story title — "Step One: Make a Lot of Enemies" — tells you everything you need to know about his agenda.
