JSA All-Stars #9
The "City of Gods!" arc rolls on in JSA All-Stars #9, and Freddie Williams II's cover captures the urgency perfectly — Atom Smasher strains against some overwhelming force at the center of the image, flanked by teammates in obvious peril as massive, monstrous figures loom in the fiery background. Power Girl braces herself to the right while other All-Stars are swept up in the chaos, all set against a lush, tropical backdrop that makes the threat feel genuinely cosmic in scale. Matthew Sturges and Williams II are clearly pushing "Old Friends, New Enemies, Glory Days Part Two" somewhere intense, and the Liberty Belle & Hourman second feature sweetens the deal for fans of DC's legacy heroes.

While half the team deals with the Paradoran drug addicts in L.A., the other half battles an army of animals in Parador, until Henry King, Jr. puts a stop to the fight. He explains that he is there looking after children who are the result of Eclipso's experiments in genetic engineering. However, the Paradoran military dictator has other plans and uses the children to raise Paradoran gods.
