About this Collection
This 2009 DC collection brings together the complete five-issue miniseries Shadowpact: The Burning Age, written by Bill Willingham with art by Matthew Dow Smith. The story follows the magical team Shadowpact as they face a devastating threat from a mystical fire that threatens to consume the world, testing their bonds and powers in a battle against ancient forces.
In "Black & White, Part 1: Unexpected Allies," Blue Devil secures a hard-fought victory over hell and his brother—but at a cost, losing his powers in the process. The Phantom Stranger now begins assembling Shadowpact teams across time, summoning unlikely allies from the past, present, and future to confront the rising threat of the Sun King. Written by Matthew Sturges and illustrated by Phil Winslade, with colors by Mike Atiyeh and letters by Ken Lopez, this pivotal issue features a cover by Tom Derenick and Wayne Faucher.
