Jesús Merino

Jesús Merino, born in Spain in 1965, built his early career within the Planeta-DeAgostini publishing imprint known as Línea Laberinto, where he penciled three mini-series across the late 1990s: *Aníbal Gris* (1996), *Jaque Mate* (1997), and *Triada Vértice* (1998). That foundational work led directly to his entry into American mainstream comics when, in 1998, he began inking layouts for penciller Carlos Pacheco — a partnership that would define Merino's initial U.S. profile. Together they worked on titles including *Avengers Forever*, *Superman/Batman*, and *Green Lantern*.

Merino went on to develop a substantial body of work at DC Comics, contributing art across numerous issues of *Justice Society of America* vol. 3 and collaborating with writer-artist George Pérez on a relaunched *Superman* series that debuted in September 2011. Over a career spanning more than two decades in American comics, he has been credited on well over 250 issues, with his most prominent work appearing in *Superman*, *Wonder Woman*, *Avengers Forever*, *Justice Society of America*, *Thor*, and *The New 52: Futures End*. His clean, reliable linework and versatility across both Marvel and DC properties have made him a consistent presence in mainstream superhero publishing through 2023.
