Featuring key battles between iconic characters like Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, Doctor Strange, and Namor, the story also involves Dormammu and Bruce Banner as the conflict escalates from a simple misunderstanding to a cosmic threat.
In "Prologue," the Avengers and the Defenders converge under unexpected circumstances when the Sub-Mariner delivers a crucial piece of the Eye to Dr. Strange’s doorstep—bringing the two teams face to face with a shared enemy they never saw coming. Written by Steve Englehart and illustrated by Sal Buscema, with inks by Frank Bolle and colors by Petra Goldberg, this pivotal issue sets the stage for a clash of titans, as the heroes uncover a conspiracy that forces them to set aside their differences. The cover by Carlos Pacheco and Jesús Merino captures the moment of tension before the storm breaks.
