Justice Society of America #35
The bold cover tagline — "Mordru in Their Midst!" — sets a tense, foreboding tone for this March 2010 chapter of DC's venerable super-team title. Penciled and inked by Jesús Merino, the cover presents a dynamic cluster of JSA members — including the green-and-red-costumed Alan Scott wielding a glowing power ring, Jay Garrick's Flash in his red-and-gold suit, a blonde hero in a blue Supergirl-style costume, a dark-clad figure who appears to be Wildcat, and a cloaked, defiant figure in the foreground — all braced against a swirling blue-energy backdrop that suggests magical chaos. With Bill Willingham scripting and Travis Moore on interior art, "The Boxing Match, Part Two of Two" promises a satisfying conclusion to what looks like a seriously high-stakes confrontation.

As Kent Nelson struggles to figure out what Mordru did to the JSA, each of the heroes faces challenges designed specifically for him or her, including Green Lantern who faces the mage himself. Kent retrieves the JSAers from the pocket dimensions in which Mordru has imprisoned them just before Mordru's and Green Lantern's fight brings them back to JSA headquarters. Kent knows that Mordru can't work a spell if he can't focus, so he tells Lightning to hit Mordru over and over until they can knock him out. Green Lantern combines the universes into one and puts the wizard there for safe-keeping.
