Justice League of America #47
Part three of "The Dark Things" finds the Justice League of America in serious trouble, with a rage-filled, green-energy-corrupted figure dominating the cover in a truly unsettling close-up — his glowing eyes and bared teeth radiating pure menace. Surrounding him, heroes including a star-field-costumed woman, a figure in a dark armored suit, and a white-caped combatant are caught mid-struggle against the sickly green onslaught, with a Green Lantern-styled hero visible in the background adding to the sense of an all-hands-on-deck crisis. Mark Bagley's pencils and Jesús Merino's inks deliver a cover with real kinetic tension, and the guest appearance of the Justice Society of America promises the kind of sprawling, two-team confrontation that makes 2010's "Brightest Day" crossover era so compelling.
