Superman #1
This collection launches the New 52 era for Superman, written by George Pérez and illustrated by Nicola Scott. It gathers the first six issues of the 2013 series, following a younger, less experienced Clark Kent as he balances his Daily Planet career with a mysterious new threat tied to his Kryptonian heritage. The volume sets up a fresh status quo for the Man of Steel, with a focus on his relationships with Lois Lane and Jimmy Olsen.
In "What Price Tomorrow?", a mysterious creature resembling Superman wreaks havoc on Earth, forcing Supergirl to intervene just in time to save Billy McCoy. As the battle escalates, Lois’ desperate cries awaken the real Superman, who’s been adrift in space—revealing a psychic link between him and the entity. With help from Nicola Scott’s dynamic art and George Pérez’s bold cover, this pivotal issue unfolds as Superman confronts the nanite-created threat, tracing its origins to a forgotten world and the enigmatic Collector of Worlds.

Supergirl arrives just in time to save Billy McCoy, so the creature who looks like Superman turns its attention to her. In the midst of their fight, Lois' shouts rouse the real Superman, who is floating in space. Realizing he is psychically linked to the creature, Superman uncovers that it is a creation of nanites from Jazuur -- a planet once visited by the Collector of Worlds -- who are trying to create the kind of order they were programmed to create on Jazuur. Superman returns to Earth and takes care of the nanites, throwing their remains into the sun.
