John Constantine strolls through a hellish green haze, cigarette in hand and coat billowing, utterly unfazed by the mass of glowing-eyed skulls surrounding him, a coiling serpentine dragon weaving through the chaos, and a massive skull-formed deity looming overhead — it's a cover that captures the man's stubborn cool against genuinely overwhelming odds. "The Bardo Score" arc pushes deeper into its third chapter here, and Jesús Merino's cover work sells the supernatural dread with real confidence. Writer Richard Kadrey and artist Davide Fabbri's 2018 run continues to find fresh ways to put Constantine exactly where he belongs — at the center of something much bigger and stranger than any sane person would want to face.
