Andrea Sorrentino

Andrea Sorrentino was born on April 21, 1982, in Naples, Italy, and has built a reputation as one of the more distinctive visual voices working across the major American comics publishers. He is perhaps best recognized for a style defined by heavy inking and inventive page architecture — layouts that fragment and reassemble narrative space in ways that feel genuinely his own rather than borrowed from house convention.

His American work took shape at DC Comics, where he contributed to both *I, Vampire* and *Green Arrow*, before moving to Marvel for high-profile mutant titles including *Uncanny X-Men*, *All-New X-Men*, and *Old Man Logan*. A frequent collaborator throughout much of this period has been writer Jeff Lemire, and their partnership produced what many consider Sorrentino's signature achievement: the Image Comics series *Gideon Falls*, a creator-owned horror thriller that earned the two an Eisner Award in 2019. His catalog across roughly fifteen years spans close to two hundred credited issues, with more recent work including *Bone Orchard: Tenement* and *Batman*.
