“Disintegration”

Part of DC's New 52 initiative, I, Vampire #12 from October 2012 puts Andrew Bennett and a female companion in a desperate embrace at the center of a blinding supernatural energy burst — while above them, a powerfully built glowing figure, an armored Stormwatch operative, and a menacing figure in a dark suit close in from all sides. The tagline "At the Mercy of Stormwatch!" frames the stakes perfectly, and Clayton Crain's painted cover work gives the whole scene an intense, almost cinematic weight. Writer Joshua Hale Fialkov and artist Andrea Sorrentino continue to make this one of the New 52's most atmospheric series.
