Ben Boxer has left Superman's costume in the hands of a simian elder at the ruins where he expects Superman to return one day. The elder sees a young woman (Thorn) about to touch the costume and tells her to leave it alone. She asks if the ruins at which they stand were once the Fortress of Solitude or the Hall of Justice, which he finds odd. He lets her know that he owns everything, and the woman kills him. The woman tries on Superman's costume, but when Kamandi sees her and balks, she says it was her father's and distracts Kamandi, so she can run off. Kamandi follows her to a building.
