Old Man Logan #5

Part of Marvel's 2015 Secret Wars event, this fifth issue finds a weathered, battle-worn Logan gazing upward against a blazing amber sky, his face shadowed and scarred as silhouettes of flying figures — including what appears to be an angelic winged form — streak through the light above him. Andrea Sorrentino's cover composition is quietly arresting, using stark contrast and Marcelo Maiolo's warm, glowing palette to convey a man confronting something vast and overwhelming. It's a beautifully moody chapter in Bendis and Sorrentino's run on one of Marvel's most compelling takes on the Wolverine mythos.
