From writer Jeff Lemire and artist Andrea Sorrentino, this 2018 Image series opens with a haunting aerial view of a city rendered in muted, almost sickly tones — streets, blocks, and waterways sprawling across a void of pure black, as if the urban landscape itself is something to be studied, or feared. Colorist Dave Stewart bathes the cityscape in desaturated greens and grays that give it an unsettling, almost clinical quality, perfectly setting the mood for a series called "Gideon Falls."
