Andrea Sorrentino's cover for this penultimate chapter of Gideon Falls is a genuinely unsettling piece of work — a skull-like, leering mask fills the frame against a blood-red background, its hollow eyes replaced by bullet holes still smoldering at the edges, while cockroaches creep along the figure's shoulders. As the fifth part of "Wicked Worlds," this 2020 Image issue brings Jeff Lemire and Sorrentino's collaboration to a fever pitch, and Dave Stewart's stark crimson palette makes the cover impossible to look away from.
