Old Man Logan #7
Andrea Sorrentino's cover for issue #7 of this 2016 Marvel series is a striking close-up of Logan's weathered, scarred face rendered almost entirely in deep crimson against a stark black background, with pale snowflakes drifting across his features — a haunting image that speaks to cold, hard endurance. The minimalist palette and raw linework make this one of the more arresting covers in the run, perfectly capturing the grim tone of Jeff Lemire's "Bordertown: Part Three." Sorrentino and colorist Marcelo Maiolo continue to push what a superhero comic cover can look like.
