I, Vampire #1
Part of DC's 2011 New 52 launch, I, Vampire #1 brings a brooding, atmospheric horror series to the relaunched universe. Jenny Frison's cover sets the mood immediately — a shirtless, red-eyed male vampire stands back-to-back with a fierce, pointed-eared redheaded female vampire, her pale body marked with dark bat-like patterns and streaked with blood, the two figures framed against a full moon surrounded by swooping bats and thorned tendrils. Writer Joshua Hale Fialkov and artist Andrea Sorrentino promise a dark, emotionally charged read with a title — "Tainted Love" — that perfectly matches the tension radiating from that striking cover image.
