Gideon Falls #13

Andrea Sorrentino's cover for Gideon Falls #13 fills every inch of the image with an intricate mass of interlocking gears, springs, and clockwork mechanisms — and at the center, a large Roman-numeral clock face stares back with an almost hypnotic calm. The golden machinery snaking through the composition gives the whole thing a sense of something vast and precisely engineered, ticking toward an inevitable moment. Jeff Lemire, Sorrentino, and colorist Dave Stewart continue their acclaimed Image series here, and if this cover is any indication, issue #13 is very much about time — and what happens when its mechanisms start to show.
