Part of DC's New 52 initiative, I, Vampire #11 (September 2012) promises a "War of the Undead" that looks as ferocious as advertised. Clayton Crain's cover renders two vampires — a red-eyed male and a wild-haired, fanged female adorned in striking crimson markings — surging upward from a press of decaying zombies clawing at them from every side. The desaturated palette punctuated by deep reds gives the whole image a visceral, unsettling energy that makes this issue hard to pass up.
