Gideon Falls #20
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeAndrea Sorrentino's cover for issue #20 of this 2019 Eisner Award winner for Best New Series is a quietly unsettling close-up of a figure wearing a surgical mask, their face fragmented into interlocking puzzle pieces — some missing, some displaced — suggesting a identity or reality that is coming apart at the seams. The warm, earthy tones from colorist Dave Stewart make the image feel uncomfortably intimate even as the puzzle motif keeps the subject just out of reach. Jeff Lemire and Sorrentino continue their collaboration here with "The Pentoculus: Part 4 of 5 — Drink the Dark Water," and if the cover is any indication, the series shows no sign of loosening its grip.
