Green Arrow #19
Part three of "The Kill Machine" arrives with a gut-punch of a cover by Andrea Sorrentino: a battered, wide-eyed Oliver Queen kneels on torn earth, arms spread and mouth open in stunned disbelief, a quiver of arrows still strapped to his back while a military helicopter looms through the smoke above him. The tagline "The Shocking Truth…" makes it clear that whatever Oliver has just learned has shaken him to his core. Jeff Lemire and Sorrentino's 2013 New 52 run was already turning heads, and this image — raw, visceral, and hauntingly expressive — captures exactly why.
