Christina Strain, born April 27, 1981, is an American comics creator and screenwriter who built her reputation at Marvel Comics as a colorist before transitioning into writing for both comics and television.
Strain entered the industry in the early 2000s and quickly became a trusted colorist on a wide range of Marvel titles. Her work spans more than 200 credited issues between 2002 and 2026, with particularly sustained contributions to series such as *Runaways*, *Spider-Man Loves Mary Jane*, *Daughters of the Dragon*, *Mary Jane*, and the crossover event *World War Hulk*. She also lent her palette to *Michael Turner's Fathom* outside the Marvel umbrella. Her coloring work on *Runaways* is among her most recognized, the series going on to earn award attention during its celebrated run.
In time, Strain shifted her focus toward writing, penning Marvel's *Generation X* revival and demonstrating a particular facility for character-driven, youth-centered storytelling. That sensibility carried naturally into television, where she joined the writing staffs of the Syfy fantasy series *The Magicians* and the Netflix adaptation *Shadow and Bone*.
Across both her coloring and writing careers, Strain occupies a relatively rare position as a creator who has shaped Marvel stories from two distinct creative disciplines, contributing meaningfully to some of the publisher's more beloved titles of the 2000s and beyond.
