Runaways #17

The cover of Runaways #17 (2006) makes a striking visual statement: a stern, imposing face fills the background in a grid-like mosaic, while smaller panels scattered across it spotlight several of the Runaways — including figures in motion, crackling with energy or mid-shout — each rendered in bold, distinctive colors by the creative team. It's a clever design that frames the young heroes as fragments within something much larger and more threatening. With Brian K. Vaughan writing and Adrian Alphona on interiors, "Parental Guidance, Chapter Four" promises exactly the kind of sharp, character-driven tension this series does so well, with cover art by Marcos Martín adding a sophisticated architectural flair to the proceedings.
