Essential X-Men #2
In "X-Men: Divided (Part Four)," the X-Men face a devastating turn when Bishop shoots Xavier, leaving the team reeling—unaware that the Acolytes have already intervened, halting time and whisking their mentor away. As Exodus struggles to mend Xavier’s shattered mind, the professor’s consciousness drifts into memories of his earliest days with the original X-Men. With Xavier’s fate hanging in the balance, Exodus reaches out to the one person who knows him better than anyone: his oldest friend… and fiercest rival. Written by Mike Carey and illustrated by Klaus Janson, Scot Eaton, John Dell, and John Romita Jr., with colors by Christina Strain and Frank D'Armata, the issue’s cover by Mike Choi captures the moment’s chilling intensity.
