A young man in traditional Japanese robes sits in quiet meditation at the center of Kei Kobayashi's hauntingly beautiful cover, while vast, shadowy wings loom over him like a storm about to break. The contrast between his serene stillness and the dark, looming presence above gives this third chapter of the four-issue Spider-Man Fairy Tales series an atmosphere closer to ancient folklore than superhero adventure. C. B. Cebulski and Kobayashi's "Eclipse" looks to be a genuinely distinctive reimagining, steeped in Japanese aesthetic sensibility.
