Runaways #9

Runaways #9 brings the "Rock Zombies" arc to a close with one of the most visually striking covers of the 2009 run — Humberto Ramos's art captures a young blonde woman suspended in a swirling, pastel-drenched burst of color, ribbons of soft light spiraling around her in what feels equal parts ethereal and kinetic. The dreamy, almost watercolor atmosphere hints at something otherworldly unfolding as this storyline reaches its conclusion. With Terry Moore writing and Takeshi Miyazawa and Christina Strain bringing the interiors to life, this is a satisfying wrap-up to one of the series' more imaginative story arcs.
