Aspen arrives from beneath the waves to pick up her "real" life in California and discovers that her father is missing. The people of the ocean city of Muria try to hammer out a defense against the attacking humans. From Chance, Aspen finds that the undersea city of Saba has been captured by humans. She puts her aquatic life on hold, however, as she and Chance head off to find her father.
