Rob Guillory
1982–
Rob Guillory was born on June 2, 1982, in the United States. He is best known as the artist and co-creator of the long-running Image Comics series *Chew*, which he illustrated from its debut in 2009. The series, written by John Layman, follows a detective with the psychic ability to receive information from anything he eats—a premise that allowed Guillory to showcase his expressive, cartoonish style and inventive visual storytelling. His work on *Chew* earned him a prominent place in the independent comics scene, and he later expanded his role as both writer and artist on the Image series *Farmhand*, a rural horror-comedy about a family with a mysterious farm. Guillory also wrote the Boom! Studios series *Mosely*. His signature art is characterized by bold, exaggerated character designs, dynamic layouts, and a keen sense of comedic timing. Over his career, spanning from 2009 to 2026, he has been credited as artist, colorist, inker, and writer on 99 issues, with his most notable works including *Chew*, *Farmhand*, and the *Chew* spin-off *Warrior Chicken Poyo*. Guillory’s contributions have been recognized with multiple Eisner Awards for *Chew*, cementing his legacy as a key figure in 21st-century creator-owned comics.
