“Space Cakes, Chapter 1”

In "Space Cakes, Chapter 1," writer John Layman and artist Rob Guillory launch a bold new chapter in the Chew universe, skipping ahead to a future where Tony lies in a hospital coma and his sister Toni takes up arms as a NASA agent. With a grounded tone and escalating mystery, Toni recounts her investigation into the theft of mysterious chogs from Jacob Butterfield—leading to the death of a man known only as D-Bear. The story unfolds with Guillory’s distinctive art and color work, supported by Taylor Wells’ vibrant hues, all under Layman’s sharp, character-driven storytelling.
