Mosely #2

The cover of Mosely #2 from BOOM! Studios sets an immediate tone of tense, otherworldly danger: a lone figure in work clothes clutches a glowing axe at the center of the image, wreathed in golden light, while massive clawed, tentacled limbs close in from both sides. Sam Lotfi's linework and Jean-François Beaulieu's warm-versus-cool color contrast — blazing amber against a deep teal tunnel receding into darkness — give the whole composition a striking, almost painterly weight. With a story titled "Belly of the Beast," this second issue of Rob Guillory's series looks like exactly the kind of adventure that earns its title.
