Chew #19
Chew's signature blend of dark humor and food-crime weirdness takes a sharp detour into conspiracy territory with issue #19, part four of the "Flambé" arc. Rob Guillory's cover plants us squarely at Area 51 — signs reading "Restricted Military Compound" and "Definitely No Aliens Here" crowd the fence behind two figures, one scowling in a dark suit and one grinning mischievously while brandishing a fork, both looming over a green, stitched-up alien laid out on a table. It's a perfectly absurd tableau that captures everything fans love about John Layman and Guillory's collaboration on this series.
