Chew #50
Reaching its landmark 50th issue in 2015, Chew arrives at a chilling conclusion to the "Blood Puddin'" arc with a cover by Rob Guillory that says a great deal without a word. A sharply dressed, silver-haired figure in a black suit and cape strides through a snow-swept compound, a hammer-and-sickle emblazoned silo looming behind him and bodies scattered across the frozen ground — the scene is quietly ominous in the best possible way. John Layman and Guillory have built something genuinely special with this series, and this fiftieth chapter looks like a fitting payoff.
