“Just Desserts, 3 of 5: Pullet Fiction”

In "Just Desserts, 3 of 5: Pullet Fiction," John Layman and Rob Guillory deliver a sharp, offbeat thriller as FDA investigators Tony and John dig into Montero Industries' new chicken substitute, Poultplus. When their investigation leads them to a hidden residence and a tense confrontation with Mason Savoy, the line between regulation and revenge blurs—especially after Ceasar Valenzano's cover is blown. The story unfolds with Guillory’s distinctive art and Layman’s wry, grounded pacing, making this a standout chapter in the series.

In a prologue, we see Mason Savoy and Ceasar Valenzano kicking ass and investigating Montero Industries. A year later, Montero produces Poultplus, a chicken substitute, which Tony and John investigate for the FDA. In Montero's office Tony and John find Ceasar and have a stand off. The FDA raid blows Ceasar's cover and he rejoins the ranks of the FDA. John does a favor for Tony and investigates Montero's private residence, where the FDA corners Mason Savoy.
