Farmhand #1
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeRob Guillory's Farmhand arrives from Image Comics with one of the more unsettling farming scenes you'll encounter in 2018: a weathered farmer in a wide-brim hat calmly waters his crop with a watering can — while dozens of disembodied human hands push up through the soil around him, veined and very much alive, with a classic red barn and tractor sitting in the background as if nothing unusual is happening. The deadpan contrast between rural Americana and body-horror agriculture sets a tone that is equal parts creepy and darkly funny. Guillory handles both the writing and art here, with Taylor Wells's colors giving the scene a sun-faded warmth that makes the whole thing feel just grounded enough to be genuinely unsettling.
