Collin Kelly
Collin Kelly is an American comics writer who works almost exclusively in partnership with Jackson Lanzing, a collaboration the two have branded the "Hivemind." Together they have built a prolific career across the industry's major publishers — DC Comics, Marvel Comics, and IDW Publishing among them — contributing to a wide range of titles since 2015.
Kelly and Lanzing's output spans superhero fare and science fiction in roughly equal measure. Their extensive run on IDW's Star Trek line stands as perhaps their most recognized achievement; the series earned the duo an Eisner Award nomination for Best New Series in 2023. They had previously helmed Star Trek: Year Five for the same publisher. On the DC side, the pair contributed to Gotham City Garage and, more recently, Outsiders. Their Marvel work includes Captain America: Sentinel of Liberty and Guardians of the Galaxy, reflecting a versatility that has kept them continuously employed across more than 190 credited issues over the decade.
Beyond print comics, Kelly and Lanzing served as lead writers and executive producers on the streaming series Kings of Atlantis in 2017, demonstrating an early interest in expanding their storytelling into other media. Their body of work suggests writers drawn to ensemble casts and mythology-heavy narratives, qualities that translate naturally across both superhero universes and the Star Trek franchise.
