Giant-Size Age of Apocalypse #1
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeGiant-Size Age of Apocalypse #1 is the third chapter in Marvel's five-part 'Giant-Size X-Men: Second Genesis Revisited' event, itself conceived as a celebration of the 50th anniversary of Len Wein and Dave Cockrum's watershed Giant-Size X-Men #1 from 1975. The issue plants Kamala Khan (Ms. Marvel) inside the Earth-295 timeline on the eve of its nuclear apocalypse, using the dystopian setting to interrogate what mutant identity means across generations — with Rogue as the unlikely mentor delivering that lesson. Its backup story by Jeph Loeb and Simone Di Meo functions as a direct narrative bridge to the separately announced X-Men of Apocalypse event series, marking the 30th anniversary of the original Age of Apocalypse and Loeb's first return to that world since co-writing it in 1995.

The five-issue Giant-Size event was conceived by editor Tom Brevoort and handed to the writing team of Collin Kelly and Jackson Lanzing, who built a through-line story centered on Kamala Khan being dragged through landmark X-Men eras by an unstable Legion. Marvel simultaneously tapped Jeph Loeb — one of the original Age of Apocalypse writers — to contribute a 'Revelations' backup strip to this specific installment, reuniting him with the Earth-295 universe he helped create three decades earlier and pairing him with Eisner-nominated artist Simone Di Meo, who was already committed to the follow-on X-Men of Apocalypse miniseries. The main story art was handled by C.F. Villa and Rafael Loureiro, with Edgar Delgado on colors, VC Clayton Cowles and Richard Starkings on letters, and Adam Kubert supplying the primary cover with Laura Martin on colors.
