After spending 3 years with the Bajoran Prophets, Benjamin Sisko returns to the corporeal world and is reunited with Jake. However, the Prophets have left Sisko with an awareness of a coming threat, and with the help of Jean-Luc Picard, Sisko is put in command of the USS Theseus and assembles a crew including Commander Data, Tom Paris, Beverly Crusher, and some new recruits, in order to investigate the threat.
