In the 31st Century, Captain Delacourt Sato and three of his crew become among the few survivors of The Burn, a catastrophic galaxy-wide chain reaction that causes all dilithium to explode, destroying all starships with warp engines that use dilithium as a power source, effectively eliminating warp drive as an option to travel across space.
