There's something delightfully deceptive about this cover by Sara Pichelli — five young mutants, including a green-scaled figure throwing up horns and a girl in a Dazzler tee, cluster together for a carefree selfie in front of a neon-lit venue, completely unaware of the massive, grinning, dreadlocked entity looming over them in the background. The contrast between that blissfully oblivious group photo and the menacing presence lurking just above them gives the whole scene a wonderfully tense energy. Writers Jackson Lanzing and Collin Kelly, with art from Michael Shelfer, are clearly leaning into the joys and dangers of mutant life in equal measure with this 2025 series.
